"Steel creates incredibly infectious soundscapes topped with witty lyrics that'll always leave you wanting more" Happy Mag
Libby Steel, winner of the Triple J unearthed Queenscliff music festival competition & artist on St Kilda Festivals Best New Artist stage, is an Australian alternative pop singer-songwriter. The Western Victorian rocket has made waves in the industry, known for her witty lyrics & ashamedly bold and colourful pop music.
Her music has captured the attention of Triple J & Unearthed where she has received stellar reviews from presenters praising her ‘big and versatile voice in a clever pop song", claiming she’s ‘part Lily Allen and part Saskwatch. It’s a winning combo’.
Steel’s love for music began as a child where she lived in the small rural town of Cobden. She grew up gigging around the area and has always stayed close to her roots. After the 2018 St Patricks fires that burnt through her hometown, she organized the Bushfire relief festival, raising $15,000 for those affected.
Libby Steel has woven her way into the music scene, taking her animated, dynamic set across the country. Due to play at at Falls Festival Lorne in December, it’s proving to be a big year ahead.
